Great news for Steelers fans and players as Ryan Shazier, a prominent Pittsburgh Steelers
player, talks about returning to the NFL in the 2018 season. In fact, this star football player has vowed to get back into form for the upcoming 2018 NFL.
Overcoming Pain With A Smile:
6 months ago, during a football game, Ryan sustained a serious injury to his back while trying to head-tackle. He has been on recovery game ever since. However, in a recent Facebook Live broadcast made by the Steelers, Ryan revealed that he has no plans to quit his career, and intends on being a part of the NFL 2018 season. This decision has boosted the morale of his fellow Pittsburgh Steelers players, who are looking forward to give their best this upcoming season.
While Ryan is still recovering from his injury, and has to use a cane to walk, his determination to get back on the field remains undeterred. This popular linebacker spoke to the media for the first time since his injury on December 4th, 2017, bringing to light the fact that he has been working very hard to recover from his injury and join his teammates in the next NFL season.
The Press Conference:
Shazier was seen walking across the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex media room with the help of a cane, after which he spoke to the media for approximately 20 minutes. During this time Ryan talked about the injury and recuperation, while focusing on how he hopes to resume his football career by overcoming such hurdles.
Ryan mentioned about his passion for football since early childhood days, and mentioned how getting hurt will not stop him from loving this sport. Earlier this year, he was kept from participating in this football season, but he managed to stay close to the game by spending his time assisting and evaluating the players.
Hope for a Better Future:
During the press conference Ryan also mentioned that he intends on getting rid of the cane, which he has been using since 26th April, when he first appeared in public to announce the Steelers’ pick (first round) at the Dallas NFL Draft. Soon after his hospital release in February, Ryan had to use a wheelchair, but he has gotten better and hopes to be fully fit very soon.
Even his teammates appear to be happy with Ryan’s presence in the organization, be it to watch films or to practice with a golf cart. Cam Heyward went on to say that all they want for Ryan is to succeed, as it portrays how much he cares about his team and the game, and the leadership quality that he essentially carries with him.
During the conference, Ryan Shazier also spoke about the way his 3-year-old son encouraged him and gave him hope to recover speedily soon after the injury. And he is also grateful to his family and friends for supporting his all through his recovery period. Ryan attitude and physical fitness in the media appearance clearly shows that he is gearing up with all his might to take part in the NFL 2018 season.
